Very interesting.... very exciting reading, just like a good novel, except that it's true history (as factual as this dissertation can be).

It's a 'must' reading for the adventurer, who'd like to go back to the 1700's, to the Spice Islands, to Zamboanga, Cotabato and Cavite.  Pirates, colonizers, the Jesuits and slave markets - it's all here.

The Chabacano Congress at Zamboanga.com has been hunting for references to the Chabacano language.  Through Dr. Gerry Madrazo, Ph.D. and the Ateneo de Manila, we were able to get hold of a copy of "A COMPOSITE DICTIONARY OF PHILIPPINE CREOLE SPANISH (PCS)" -  a dissertation presented to the faculty of the graduate school Ateneo de Manila University, by Sister Maria Isabelita O. Riego de Dios, RV.M. 1976.

I browsed through this paper, was attracted to chapter II, read it page by page without letting the paper down.  I was so thrilled, I just have to share it with any adventurer.

Thanks to HTML, it's easier to read short books on the web.  On the left (the table of contents), just click on the sections you wish to go to.

If you're in a hurry, try Sections 2.22 and 2.23 !

Enjoy !
